On 10th October 2017, International Mental Health day, we have organised an amazing 4-minute flash mob dance in London’s Kings Cross Station to raise awareness of the importance of healthy lifestyles to promote wellbeing in young people from 10 to 25 years old. The dancers are between 10 to 23 years old, they are World Dance Champions and finalists in Britains got Talent.
Our goal at Julian Campbell Foundation is to inspire positivity and wellbeing at a global level. We’re now taking this idea further with our Youth Well-Being Flash Mob Project.
Depression, anxiety and self-harm are the top cause of illness in young people from 10 to 24 years old in European, Western and high-income countries. Together, globally, they cause over 40 million years of disability in 20 to 29-year-olds. Suicides in Universities in the UK is at an all-time high. This is a global public health crisis and must be addressed.
We are seeking endorsement to help raise valuable funds for our Youth Well-Being Flash Mob Project, to increase our scope and reach of young people and their families whose lives we make a difference to.
We would like to invite you to participate in our Youth Wellbeing Flash Mob Project. Participating in our campaign is simple and free.
We need you to post the flash mob video on any of your social media sites, along with describing an action you commonly take when you’re a little stressed, anxious or sad. Anything is useful, such as speaking with a good friend, taking a deep breath, spending time on your favourite hobby, listening to music. Being role models in our society means that young people listen to you and you make a huge impact on their lives.
Once you have posted our flash mob video, ask five friends to post the video on their network sites in the same way you have. We are committed that the flash mob goes viral. Participating in this way will promote a global consciousness and togetherness to help our young people who are suffering realise that they’re not alone and help them to overcome what they’re dealing with.
