The Julian Campbell Foundation will host its annual Youth Wellbeing Day on 16th August, offering a full day of dance workshops, music, wellbeing activities and performances for young people and their families.
The event was created in memory of Julian Campbell, who tragically took his own life on August 16th after struggling with his mental health. Determined to honour his life and help other young people avoid similar struggles, Julian’s family and loved ones established Youth Wellbeing Day as a space where young people can feel supported, understood and part of a community.
Since the first event in 2017, Youth Wellbeing Day has grown into an annual celebration that brings together young people, artists, mental health advocates and community organisations to share resources and encourage open conversations about mental health.
Jacqui Campbell, founder of the Julian Campbell Foundation, said: “We know how hard it can be for young people to find a safe place to open up about their feelings. Youth Wellbeing Day is about more than raising awareness. It’s about giving them the tools, confidence and community to look after their mental health and know they are not alone.”
This year’s theme, Fuel Your Mood, invites young people to connect through creativity, movement and shared experiences. The day is free to attend and open to all.
